In order to be considered for employment at GISCO, applicants must meet all of the minimum position requirements related to education/training, certification and experience. Knowledge and abilities are assessed at different points in the selection process. Technical skills are also evaluated to ensure that the applicant can perform the required tasks.
The selection interview is used primarily to gain additional information about the candidate regarding their education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities as well as assess the cultural fit. It provides an opportunity to the applicant to know more about the Company, his job, concerns, etc. In some cases, after carrying out initial interviews, shortlisted candidates maybe advised of the details of the final interview and of any special requirements.
We always conduct reference checks to verify information gathered through the selection process about candidates’ experience, work performance, academic performance and professional characteristics (e.g. dependability, initiative). We take up references as we deem appropriate and reserve the right to check all qualifications.
If found suitable, HR Department prepares and issues the letter of appointment to the candidate. After the candidate accepts the offer, further proceedings are carried out towards satisfying the statutory requirements.
We conduct an induction program for all our new employees within their first week of employment. It is a combination of general information about the Company as well as specifics regarding the employee’s job role. An HR representative will give the new employee a tour of the site, head office and facilities, including introductions to key managers and colleagues as appropriate.
